Hospital starts free eye surgeries for poor patients



                      Expanding its mission to serve the poor people at the occasion of its silver jubilee year celebration, a suburban hospital on Monday started free of cost eye surgeries for low income group people.
“As part of our mission we do charity every year and conduct free of cost eye-operation, but since this year we are celebrating the 25th year of service to mankind, we are extending our free of cost operation to poor people for entire three months till the festival of Dussehra,” said Nemji Gangar, the managing trustee of Manav Kalyan Kendra which runs the hospital in Dahisar area in Mumbai.
He said the surgeries for cataract (by providing foldable lens), glaucoma, retina and squint would be performed at the hospital. Outlining the eligibility of the getting free of cost operation, Gangar said, “Only those will be given free of cost operation facility who would be having yellow or saffron ration cards or a certificate from tehsildar of belonging to Below Poverty Line or having Rajiv Gandhi Jeevdayee Arogya Yojna card.”
